Maralize Carreon
Booking Assistant
As a Filipina and California-born native, Maralize Carreon graduated from UCLA with a minor in Music Industry where she kick-started her career in the live music industry. While engaging in the local scene, Carreon took part in several organizations that left a mark on the UCLA music landscape. Starting with Hip Hop Congress (HHC), an organization centered around hip-hop and R&B, she organized a music video workshop with award-winning director and writer, Chelsea Odufu, in 2022. In March 2023, tapping into her love for live event production, Carreon directed the annual HHC Fashion Show that highlighted styles and artists from the East and West Coast featuring King Combs and Christian Dennis. Carreon was also a part of the first student-run record label, Cherry Pop Records, as an A&R representative for local band Lot 3. Utilizing her versatile skill set, she also co-hosted and DJ'ed the first female-run hip-hop show on UCLA Radio interviewing local LA rappers and r&b artists. These organizations grew her love and passion to uplift the hip-hop scene.
While a student at UCLA, Carreon interned at Red Light Management under the guidance of Gonzo Lubel and Cristina Pillajo. Working with The Marias and Inner Wave, she built her knowledge of the management side of the music business. This led her to an internship with Live Nation where she was working closely with the LA concerts booking department. With the mindset to uplift her cultural community, Carreon pioneered the first UCLA x Live Nation music industry panel that highlighted Asian speakers from various industry backgrounds in celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islanders Heritage Month. Alongside a close friend, Carreon hosted and produced a hip-hop and R&B showcase, What's Love, giving the stage to local LA artists.
